Condition Guide
TackFinds Condition Guide describes the words and abbreviations we use and apply on our website to products to identify the used quality and condition of products. We follow the National Association for Resale and Thrift Stores (NARTS) recommended condition categorization.
New / New with Tags (NWT) / New without Tags (NWOT):
The item has never been used, shows no defects or alterations, and includes original packaging and tags.
Excellent:
The item has been lightly used or is a remainder stock, showing minimal to no signs of wear, often with original packaging intact.
Very Good/VGUC: Very Good Used Condition:
The item is well-cared-for with limited use, remaining in good working condition but may show minor cosmetic defects like small scratches, slight wear on stitching, or minor blemishes.
Good Used Condition/GUC:
The item is fairly worn but continues to function, potentially having significant cosmetic damage, missing parts, or being repackaged, but is not damaged to the point of being unusable.
Poor / Defective:
The item has severe defects such as missing pages, illegible text, structural
flaws, or damage that affects usability, often considered a dealbreaker for
serious buyers.
Safety Equipment Policy
TackFinds is committed to rider safety and equestrian health.
We understand that saving money and buying used products really helps
us enjoy and continue riding horses in an ever more expensive sport. While we wish we could offer used safety equipment with confidence, we simply cannot. Not only do we know this from our many years owning a retail store and understanding helmet, vest and safety stirrup manufacturer processes change and growth over the last 12 years, but we have industry guidelines to assist us.
We follow NARTS's recommendations for resale of Safety Products for Consumers.
Items that should never be taken in resale, recalled or not:
Used helmets for bikes, motorcycles, sports. At TackFinds this includes any
equestrian safety product:
- helmets
- vests
(air and body) - stirrups
with a latch mechanism
